Fourteen contributions put forward the current state of research on the relationship between capital flows, financial markets and macroeconomics such as the role of capital controls, the interaction between banking crises and bailouts, the interaction between exchange rate regimes and macroeconomic policy, sovereign debt and default, the role of regulation in environments with strategic complementarities, the relationship between inequality, financial liberalization and sovereign debt, the role of secondary markets in debt crises, the international transmission of shocks through portfolio rebalancing and the incidence of financial constraints in the closing of plants during recessions
The event brought together 32 academics and researchers from European, Latin American and US institutions. UPF faculty and Master & PhD students also attended.
